the method

Satyananda Yoga ®
The method is based on the teachings of a great indian guru: Swāmī Satyānanda Saraswati (1923-2009), who was a disciple of Swāmī Sivānanda Saraswati of Rishikesh (1887-1963).
Practices derive from ancient indian sources and are used in a traditional way: Āsana to balance the body and mind through the physical body, Prāṇayāma to work on the energy body and relaxation and meditation to calm and focus the mind. Moreover, even out of classes, Satyananda Yoga encourages Yoga as a lifestyle.
There is an emphasis on awareness and practitioners are encouraged to experience all aspects of their personality, through Yoga. Change is a process that takes place naturally as a consequence of regular practice with full awareness, rather than by forcing the mind and body to the limit and beyond.
